Following exclusion of specific medical disorders such as gigantism, tall stature is generally not considered a severe somatic problem. Orthopedic concerns such as scoliosis and kyphosis may occur. In addition, higher incidences of psychological strug gles, such as social anxiety, social withdrawal and less assertiveness, have been observed.
