Background: Subcutaneous fat necrosis of the Newborn (SCFN) is a rare disease occurring in the first days of life. Characteristically the infants show hard nodules in subcutaneous tissue, purple or erythematous in color and appear on the upper back, cheeks, buttocks and limbs.
