Background: In newborns, physiological transition of glucose metabolism is typically completed within 48–72 h of life, yet prolonged hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia (HH) beyond 5d of life is not uncommonly encountered, especially in infants at-risk of hypoglycemia.
