ESPE Abstracts

This presentation will provide an insight into the Gender identity Development service (GIDS) endocrine pathway. The service has experienced a difficult year with well documented legal challenges; these will be briefly presented highlighting the impact this has had on patient care. It is important when working with gender incongruent young people to be aware of the use of appropriate pronouns, co-occurring difficulties and the importance of advocacy in our nursing practice. The presentation will provide the listeners with an introductory toolkit to working with gender diverse young people.
