Background: The prevalence of hyperthyroidism in pregnancy is about 0.2%, mostly due to Graves disease. Neonatal autoimmune hyperthyroidism caused by the transplacental passage of stimulatory thyrotropin receptor antibodies (TRAB) of the IgG class is a rare disorder.
