Introduction: Neurologic symptoms, such as cerebral edema, stroke, and extrapontine myelinolysis, are rare in pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in the absence of severe diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) or chronically poor glycemic control.
